This week the Washington Redskins travel to New England to play the New England Patriots. Generally anyone traveling to New England in the fall has a good time but this may not be the case as the Redskins play a Patriot team that has dominated the league so far this year. The Patriots have not played a dominating defense this year like the Redskins have and this game could be closer than many people think.

The Patriots and their 1st rated offense are led by Tom Brady (2125 27 TD 2 INT) who has been as close to perfect as a QB can play. He is ahead of schedule to break Peyton Manning's record for TD's in a year. The Patriots rushing attack is led by the tandem of Fullback Sammy Morris (384 yds 3 TD) and Running Back Lawrence Maroney (283 yds). Brady's main targets are Randy Moss (44 rec 732 yds 10 TD) Wes Walker (47 rec 524 yds 5 TD) and Donte' Stallworth (22 rec 367 yds 3 TD). Moss leads the league in receiving yards and TD's. The Patriots offense is one of the best that the NFL has seen in some time and the Redskins will have their hands full. Defensively the Patriots are ranked 8th overall and are led up front by Linebacker Mike Vrabel (3.5 sacks) and Defensive End Jarvis Green (3 sacks). The Patriots are ranked 4th in passing defense and are led by Asante Samuel (3 INT).

The Redskins and their 25th ranked offense are led by second year QB Jason Campbell (1181 yds 5 TD 5 INT) who has played well as coach Joe Gibbs has brought him around slowly limiting his chances to make mistakes. The Washington rushing game is led by the tandem of Clinton Portis (406 yds 5 TD) and Ladell Betts (126 yds). The Redskins rushing attack has been in decline after starting the season strong. Campbell's main targets are Antwaan Randle El (23 rec 422 yds) and Santana Moss (14 rec 207 yds). In the last couple of weeks the Redskins offense has not played well and their team has been bailed out by their defense. They will have to get back on track if they hope to keep up with the Patriots. The Redskins are ranked 3rd in the league defensively and are led by hard-hitting Safety Sean Taylor who leads the NFL with 5 INT's. The Redskins are anchored by Linebacker London Fletcher (53 tackles) who had a big game last week and returned an interception for a touchdown. The Redskins are 8th in the league in passing defense giving up 196.2 yards per game. The Redskins D will have to have great coverage against the talented Patriots receivers and also put pressure on Brady all game to have any chance to win. The Redskins have a tough D and but the Patriots have one of the best offenses ever assembled. The Redskins are ranked 2nd in the league in points allowed at 14.7 and will look to control the game on the ground. If the game becomes a shootout the Redskins will have no chance, as no team would against the Patriots. The Patriots will win this game but with their tough D the Redskins will make it a closer
